As of now we have 3358 members currently experiencing a power outage at 77 separate locations. Crews have determined there are at least 10 broken poles in Pickens County and 11 in Gilmer; we expect those numbers to increase.
Our goal is to restore all power as soon as is safely possible but we do not have an estimate of time at this point. As long as the wind does not pick back up, we should be able to make good progress tonight and tomorrow, but high winds are forecast throughout the day tomorrow.
Please remember to stay away from all downed power lines and always assume they are still energized. Report downed lines to 911 first, then to our outage reporting system at 706-253-0359 OR 706-276-0359 OR 706-864-0359.
