Helicopter Tree Trimming Along Highway 108 and Highway 20
Keeping the right of way clear is a big part of keeping the lights on for our members. Agricultural Air Services, contracted by Amicalola EMC, will begin trimming the right of way at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 108 and continue along 108 on Tuesday, December 12th if weather permits. Using a helicopter equipped with aerial saw blades, the project should take approximately two weeks to complete. While Agricultural Air Services will handle the trimming and road control, Amicalola EMC crews will be coming back through to clear the debris. Many utilities use this method to trim trees in hard to reach areas and have found the technology to be safe and efficient. We’ll work diligently to keep any inconvenience to a minimum as we work hard to keep the lights on.
