Monday night, November 14, 2022 beginning around 11:00 pm we experienced at least 6 brief power outages of the transmission line bringing power into the Talking Rock substation. Affected areas were Carnes Mill, Talking Rock, Fisher Creek, Jones Mountain, Price Creek, Pleasant Valley, Burnt Mountain, Grandview, Old Highway 5, Wingate Road and surrounding areas. The last occurrence was around 5:35 a.m. this morning.
It is our understanding that the transmission and generation facilities involved have isolated the issue and this should result in an end to the brief and sporadic power outages. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Are you rounding up? If you are a member of Amicalola EMC and you are not rounding up your electric bill for charity, you are missing a great opportunity to use small change to make a big difference.
The quarterly meeting of Amicalola EMC’s Operation RoundUp board was held in October and $20,119 was awarded to area non-profits and individuals in need. This brings the total awarded during 2022 to $90,383. All donations are used for food, shelter, clothing, health needs, education and specialty needs. Donations are also given to house fire victims within the Amicalola EMC service area.
The monthly cost to you can never be more than .99 a month and the average is only about $6 a year. Please call 706-253-5200 to join!
