Amicalola Electric Membership Corp. will hold a public hearing on May 22, 2023, to facilitate consideration of certain new standards pursuant to the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, as amended by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (there- inafter “PURPA”). The new standards to be considered are as follows:
- Demand-response practices [16 S.C. § 2621(d)(20)].
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging programs [16 U.S.C. § 2621(d)(21)].
The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. and will be held at:

The hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Rules and Procedures Governing Conduct of PURPA Proceedings (the “Rules”), as adopted by the Amicalola EMC Board of Directors. A copy of the Rules may be viewed at Amicalola EMC’s website, or is available for inspection and copying during business hours at the office of Amicalola EMC, 544 Hwy 515 South, Jasper, GA 30143. A copy of the Rules is also available upon written request (accompanied by a check or money order for $5 to cover copying and postage) to the following address:

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C.§ 2631(1), the U.S. Secretary of Energy and any electric consumer of Amicalola EMC may participate in the hearing as an intervenor. To apply for status as an intervenor, an application must be filed with Amicalola EMC no later than March 23, 2023. Please refer to the Rules for important details regarding the procedure for intervening. Interested persons who do not wish to intervene may make a limited appearance and furnish oral or written comments as provided in the Rules. The hearing will start promptly at 9 a.m., and limited appearances will be taken first.
