Update on power outages

We are thankful for a clear day today for the crews that are working hard to get the power restored.  Currently there are 2934 members without power, down from a high of  almost 10,000 that were out at the height of the storm.  Due to the high winds and the fact that this was widespread across our service area, restoration has been time intensive.  At the present time, Lumpkin County has the highest number of members out with 1454, followed by Gilmer, Cherokee and Pickens.  Dawson, Gordon and Murray has less than 50 each.

These 2934 members are spread across seven counties at 143 separate locations.  At this point, 28 broken poles have been located and have been replaced or are in the process of being replaced.  This adds to the restoration time.  We continue to ask for your patience.  Please remember to stay away from any downed power lines and always assume they are still energized.  Please report any power outages or any details regarding specific locations to our outage management system at 706-253-0359 OR 706-276-0359 OR 706-864-0359.
