Outage Update – Thursday, May 9, 2024 6:55 AM

Due to overnight thunderstorms, high winds and heavy rains we are experiencing widespread power outages across our service area. Currently over 8,000 members are affected, the worst area being Gilmer County, especially around the HWY 52, Big Creek and Roy Road area. We have reports of at least 5 broken poles, and expect that number to rise. All reports say large trees are down in multiple areas, with many trees being on power lines. This will delay restoration efforts. Please stay away from downed power lines – do not go near them and always assume they are still energized. This warning also includes NO DRIVING ACROSS DOWNED POWER LINES.  Report them to us using our outage management system via the following numbers:  706-253-0359 OR 706-276-0359 OR 706-864-0359.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to restore all power as soon as is safely possible.  Please pray for the safety of our line workers as well as the safety of all our affected members and their families.
