Following a rough 24 hours that included multiple storms passing through our service area, we currently have 2026 members out of power at 59 separate locations. Over 1300 of these are in Gilmer County, 400+ in Cherokee County and the rest are scattered throughout.
Our broken pole count is at 12+ and we expect that number to continue to rise. We understand there is the possibility of more storms later today and flooding is a possibility in some areas.
Our crews responded as soon as the first storm passed and are still working to restore all power as soon as is safely possible. It is extremely important to be cautious and stay away from any downed power lines. Always assume they are still energized.
