GivingTuesday we want to ask our members who might not be participating in the Operation Round Up program to consider enrolling. As a participant in Operation Round Up your monthly bill is rounded up to the nearest dollar. That means that each month your contribution can be no more than $0.99. The average co-op member donates about $6 a year. That doesn’t seem like much, but once combined with over 45,000 members it adds up to make a significant impact.
Where do those donations go? To do good work in our communities. This year Amicalola EMC was able to give over $90,000 back to the communities it serves. These donations can include helping a family in need after a house fire, assisting the local food pantries or providing funds so that the local fire departments can get a needed piece of equipment. Operation Round Up brings our cooperative closer to the communities we serve, but we couldn’t do it without you.
