Amicalola EMC Is Now Accepting Applications for Scholarships
Three high school juniors in the Amicalola EMC service area will be awarded a week long all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. and a $1,000 scholarship. Up to 15 runners-up will also receive scholarships of varying amounts.
High school seniors may enter the scholarship program, earning up to $1000 for college.
All students must live in a household whose electricity is provided by Amicalola EMC. Applications may be found at www.amicalolaemc.com, any local Amicalola EMC office or the high school counselor’s office.
The deadline for entering both programs is January 31, 2014. For more information, please contact Stacey Fields at (706) 253-5287. Due to school closings, the deadline for scholarship and youth tour applications has been extended until Feb. 7., 2014. That will allow one extra week to get the necessary recommendations from teachers.
