This is done to reduce replacement costs, extend the life of the poles and to increase the safety and reliability of the electric system. We've had a report that a consumer received a telephone call from someone asking for a debit card number so they could process a refund because of the recent outages. It was not us. Amicalola EMC will never call you and ask you to provide your debit card number over the phone. If you receive a suspicious phone call, hang up immediately.
