7:00 AM Winter Storm Update

Loading up before day breaks... it's just one of the many attributes of a lineman. Thanks to Kennon Nazerian from dispatch for capturing this photo this morning.

The crews made great progress last night before breaking off. We are down to 670 members without power at 35 separate locations.

We'd like to say a special thank you to the community for the outpouring of love and support for these utility workers! It's certainly not easy to leave your homes and families during times like these, but it's what is necessary and they really appreciate the kind words from all of you. So thank you!

As daylight breaks we will be evaluating road conditions and crews will work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Remember, to report an outage please call one of the following numbers: 706-253-0359 OR 706-276-0359 OR 706-864-0359. You can also report an outage through the online member portal or on the Amicalola EMC app. If you encounter a downed power line always assume it is energized and do not go near it or drive over it.

12:00 PM Winter Storm Update

As crews have continued to chip away at storm damage this morning, we are down to 494 members without power at 22 separate locations.

Earlier this morning, 3 broken poles were found in Lumpkin County off of Hightower Church Rd, Ridley Rd and Chester Rd. These are being replaced by crews now. We know that some of our members still without power have been off for an extended period of time. We not only appreciate your patience, but want to thank you for the preparations you made in the days leading up to this winter weather event.

We will continue to work until all power is restored. Please help us remember our neighbors at Habersham EMC. They saw significant damage to their system from the storm. In times like these we're reminded how fortunate we are to be part of a community of cooperatives.
