We would like to inform our members that Avid Aviation Inc., contracted by Amicalola EMC, will begin aerial tree trimming operations starting August 25, weather permitting. This innovative method uses a helicopter equipped with aerial saw blades to safely and efficiently trim trees in areas that are difficult to access by traditional means.
This trimming is part of our ongoing commitment to protect power lines from overhanging limbs and reduce the risk of outages. While Avid Aviation will be responsible for the trimming and traffic control during operations, Amicalola EMC crews, along with Rose Tree Service, will come back through to clear debris.
Please be advised that temporary power interruptions and traffic delays may occur when safety is a concern. We will do everything possible to minimize disruptions and complete the work efficiently.
Tree trimming in Gilmer County will begin on Flat Branch Rd, and then move to Highway 52 E from Turniptown to the county line. This project is expected to take approximately one month before crews move on to the next location.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to maintain reliable electric service for our members.
