Operation RoundUp awards grants of $17,892 to area non profits

The quarterly meeting of Amicalola EMC’s Operation RoundUp board was held in February. Due to the generosity of thousands of Amicalola EMC members who “round-up” for charity, $17,892 was awarded to area non-profits and individuals in need. Grants were presented to the following local non-profits:
Anna Crawford Children’s Centers – Cherokee/Gilmer/Pickens
Community Helping Place – Lumpkin
ConnectAbility, Inc. –Dawson/Forsyth/Lumpkin
The Craddock Center – Dawson/Gilmer/Lumpkin/Pickens
Encompass Ministries – Bartow/Cherokee
NOA’s Ark, Inc. – Dawson/Lumpkin
Pickens County Toys for Tots
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital – Cherokee/Fannin/Gilmer/Pickens

Qualifying local individuals also received financial assistance directly from Operation RoundUp for the following:
Clothing & shoes, food, medical bills, propane and rent. The monthly cost to you can never be more than .99 a month and the average is only about $6 a year. Please call 706-253-5200 to join!
