AMICALOLA EMC ROLLS OUT BRIGHT IDEAS EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAM

 

Teachers Can Apply Beginning August 1 for the 2010-11 School Year

 

            Amicalola EMC has great news for teachers! Beginning with a pilot program slated to roll out on August 1, 2010, teachers at certain elementary schools served by Amicalola EMC may apply for the Bright Ideas Education Grant Program. 

            Amicalola EMC’s Bright Ideas program is the only education grant program exclusive to elementary schools served by the cooperative. Teachers at select elementary schools may apply for grants of up to $1,000.  The deadline for teachers to submit an application is September 15, 2010.   Teachers who submit their application by the early-bird deadline on August 31 will be entered in a drawing. Two lucky winners will receive a $50 American Express gift card.

                        The Bright Ideas grant program is designed to financially support classroom projects for which funding is currently unavailable. Program details at available at www.amicalolaemc.com. The primary elements of the application process include an explanation of the project and its potential benefits to students.  A sample application and information about the program is attached.

            The Bright Ideas education grant program is part of Amicalola EMC’s ongoing commitment to our schools and our communities. Amicalola EMC is a not-for-profit electric cooperative that serves more than 45,000 locations in Bartow, Cherokee, Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray and Pickens counties.
